Looking Back: Mainition with the German Delegation at ALL IN in Montreal
As one of seven selected German AI startups, Mainition was part of the German delegation to ALL IN—Canada’s largest AI and tech festival—on September 16 and 17. Germany was this year’s Country of Honor.

Two Countries, a Shared Approach to AI
At the German pavilion, Federal Minister for Digital Affairs Dr. Karsten Wildberger and Canada’s Minister of AI Evan Solomon announced plans to intensify cooperation between the two countries in the field of AI development. Solomon addressed the delegation directly, saying:
"This is an incredible delegation of entrepreneurs. This is just the beginning. AI must be developed properly, and our two countries are doing it together." Evan Solomon, Canada's Minister of AI and Digital Innovation

At the Roundtable: Market Access Instead of a Funding Program
The roundtable discussion with Minister Wildberger, Canadian investors, and German startups focused on market access, investment, and scaling between the two countries. Our takeaway from the discussion: The first two or three customers in a new market are the hardest to acquire. What helps companies like ours move forward is matchmaking between Canadian companies and German startups.
During the ensuing discussion, a second point was raised: In addition to the goal of five German-Canadian unicorns, we need the “hidden champions.” They are among the region’s true strengths; they grow more slowly but are more stable—and require a different kind of support than capital for rapid scaling.
What We Have Shown

Mainition monitors the ordering behavior of each existing customer—typically wholesalers and manufacturers. If orders become smaller, less frequent, or if certain product categories are no longer being ordered, the system contacts the customer on behalf of the sales team. If the customer responds, the sales team takes over the qualified lead.
It was striking how quickly the conversations at the booth took the same turn as they had in Germany: Everyone is familiar with customers who become less vocal—but hardly anyone has a process in place to address this.
We would like to thank the de:hub Initiative for organizing the delegation trip, as well as all the startups we spent time with in Montreal.
